Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Denver, Colorado seeks a Responsible Engineer for adapter hardware on the Payload Accommodations team. You will design and revise mechanical components to support the Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle and ensure integration with payload requirements.

Will perform trade studies, support root-cause analysis, and develop improvements that reduce cost and raise reliability. Requires collaboration with program management, production, launch sites, suppliers, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Familiar with structural / mechanical system engineering design, development & qualification.
• Demonstrated project management and/or integration experience.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills.
• Ability to operate independently.
• Time management skills and strong self-initiative.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise engineering models of structural/mechanical components and assemblies.
• Perform trade studies to optimize designs for manufacturability, producibility, and performance.
• Support identification of causes of problems and implement engineering corrective actions.
• Develop design improvements that reduce cost and increase reliability.
• Coordinate with mission management, production sites, launch sites, suppliers, test facilities, and payload customers.
• Communicate design and analysis solutions to technical management and customers.
