Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Denver seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Payload Accommodations team. You will design, analyze, and test interface solutions to integrate payloads onto the Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle, providing structural support and reliable release mechanisms for mission success.

The role requires collaboration with mission management, production, suppliers, and customers, plus the ability to travel and interpret complex drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with structural / mechanical system engineering design.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills.
• Ability to lead tasks with support of senior engineers.
• Time management and self-initiative.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise engineering models of structural/mechanical components for launch vehicle and mission requirements.
• Perform trade studies to optimize designs for manufacturability and performance.
• Support identification of root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop design improvements to reduce cost and improve reliability.
• Coordinate with management, production sites, launch sites, suppliers and客户 to align design, production and test schedules.
• Communicate design and analysis solutions effectively to technical management and customers.
