Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking a Responsible Engineer for adapter hardware on the Payload Accommodations team in Denver. You will create and revise engineering models, conduct trade studies, support corrective actions, and drive design improvements to meet mission requirements and cost targets.

Collaboration with mission management, production and launch sites, suppliers, and customers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Familiar with structural/mechanical system design, development & qualification
• Demonstrated project management/integration experience
• Demonstrated teamwork skills
• Ability to operate independently
• Strong time management and self-initiative
• Good written and verbal communication
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and industry/government standards
• Ability to travel
• Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

• Create and revise engineering models of structural/mechanical components and assemblies for launch vehicle and mission needs
• Perform trade studies to optimize designs for manufacturability, producibility, and performance
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Develop design improvements to reduce cost and risk or improve reliability/performance
• Coordinate with mission management, production sites, launch sites, suppliers, test facilities, and payload customers on design, production, and test schedules
• Communicate design and analysis solutions to technical management and customers
