Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Colorado is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join project teams focused on power plant and oil & gas systems. You will size equipment, develop piping and instrumentation drawings, and write technical specifications, supporting client decisions from design through delivery.

You will engage in numerical analyses, use CAD tools like AutoCAD, and coordinate with designers to produce isometrics, plans, and elevations. Occasional travel to sites may occur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
• Strong academic background with interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply system engineering to power plant and oil & gas projects, including design, modification, and analysis of mechanical systems.
• Prepare calculations to size equipment, piping, valves, and inline components.
• Develop technical specifications and conduct technical bid reviews to support client recommendations.
• Prepare technical studies and reports for client reviews.
• Provide Piping & Instrumentation drawings, equipment lists, line lists, valve lists, and material lists.
• Coordinate with mechanical designers to develop Isometric drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and pipe support drawings.
• Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and field verification when required.
