Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to support power plant and oil & gas projects. You will contribute to system engineering, sizing calculations, and technical documentation in a collaborative team environment.

The role is hybrid, requiring in-office work 3 days per week, with travel to client sites as needed. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and CAD experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
• Strong problem-solving and numerical computation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to project tasks.
• Size equipment, piping, valves, and inline piping components per project needs.
• Prepare technical specifications and perform technical bid reviews to support client recommendations.
• Prepare piping & instrumentation drawings, equipment lists, line lists, valve lists and material lists.
• Coordinate with mechanical system designers to develop piping drawings, Isometrics, plans, sections, elevations, and pipe supports.
