Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Mechanical Designer to develop mechanical general arrangements, piping isometrics, and 3D plant layout models under the Mechanical Project Lead. You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior drafters to deliver complete designs on schedule.

This role emphasizes problem solving, detailed design review of equipment outlines and interfaces, and hands-on collaboration with engineering to ensure robust mechanical solutions for power plant

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting or a high school diploma with drafting coursework/experience.
• 10+ years of detailed physical design in mechanical general arrangements, piping, supports.
• Proficiency with 3D plant layout tools and reviewing mechanical equipment outlines/interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical general arrangements, piping isometrics, and supports.
• Create 3D plant layout models under Mechanical Project Lead guidance.
• Coordinate with other designers and project teams to ensure timely deliverables.
• Mentor junior drafters and provide guidance to the design team.
• Interface with engineering and design teams across disciplines in power plant projects.
