Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an engineering professional to join our team in Englewood or Westminster, CO. You will contribute to heat and material balance work, equipment sizing, and hydraulic calculations for multiple projects.

You will develop PFDs and P&IDs, participate in safety reviews like HAZOP/PHAs, and support design basis development while collaborating with clients and vendors. The role requires strong communication and travel up to 20% for site visits and meetings.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with a strong academic background.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required as well as a professional demeanor.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Able to travel as necessary for client meetings, job site visits, start-up activities, off-site training, industry related conventions/seminars, etc. (up to 20% travel).
• This position is located in Englewood, CO or in Westminster, CO.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team for multiple projects.
• Develop the heat and material balance for new projects using process simulation tools. Perform equipment sizing calculations and prepare equipment data sheets.
• Perform detailed hydraulic calculations to determine pipe sizes, control valve sizing, compressor and pump duties, etc.
• Develop Design Basis for new projects.
• Create process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Participate in safety reviews, HAZOP/PHAs and PSM activities.
• Maintain effective communication with project team members and with clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Participate in the preparation of proposals for engineering services. Support schedule planning for projects including coordinating staffing resources with Process Engineering Manager.
• Support construction, commissioning, and start-up efforts, draft operating procedures and provide operator training manual input.
