Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Clayton, MO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics in power plant and oil & gas projects. The role involves sizing equipment, preparing specifications, and developing piping drawings with project teams.

This position features a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days a week and a start target of January 2027, with potential travel to client sites for design reviews and field verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or similar.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD.
• Strong numerical analysis and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations to size equipment, piping, valves, and inline components.
• Prepare technical specifications and perform bid reviews for client recommendations.
• Prepare technical studies and reports for client reviews.
• Prepare P&ID drawings, equipment lists, line lists, valve lists, and material lists.
• Coordinate with mechanical system designers to develop piping drawings (Isometrics, plans, sections, elevations).
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews or construction coordination when needed.
