Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a range of facilities. You will work with in-house teams and contractors, delivering coordinated technical solutions that meet owner requirements.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, FE exam pursuit, and a path toward PE licensure. Candidates should show strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering; FE exam in progress or planned; PE license expected after required experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Clearly communicate design recommendations to clients, project teams, construction contractors and vendors.
• Develop mechanical systems designs with accuracy and coordination across disciplines.
• Produce 3-D Revit models and construction documents for building systems.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects and engineers from other disciplines.
• Back-check own work to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Follow project-specific modeling and drawing standards; contribute to department best practices.
• Assist engineers and designers to generate project deliverables and support project timelines.
