Job summary

Salas O’Brien is hiring an HVAC Mechanical Engineer in Philadelphia, PA. You will design, analyze, and develop HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and federal projects, preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires 1–5 years of experience, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office. Travel to US sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and local building codes.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for healthcare, science & technology, education, and commercial projects
• Perform Load/Energy calculations with software such as Trace 700, Carrier HAP, and similar programs
• Work with senior engineer to conduct building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems
• Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
• Write/edit project specifications
• Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies
• Code compliance research
• Coordinate work with other disciplines
• Provide construction administration services
