Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Philadelphia is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze HVAC systems for diverse projects. You will produce calculations, drawings, and specs while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet codes and schedules.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience and a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering. PE is strongly preferred; proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (Strongly Preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and local building codes.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and develop HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and federal projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure designs meet codes and project schedules.
• Perform Load/Energy calculations using software such as Trace 700 and Carrier HAP.
• Conduct building surveys and document existing HVAC systems with senior engineer.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines and provide construction administration services.
