Job summary

Salas O’Brien in the United States seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems with a focus on HVAC and ventilation. You will work across healthcare, federal, industrial, municipal, and commercial sectors.

The role emphasizes lead project teams, client liaison, and QA/QC of design work, with opportunities for advancement and involvement in client interviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• “Active Professional Engineering license in NC or ability to be licensed in NC within 6 months of start date.”
• Minimum of 5 years design experience.
• LEED certification/experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to determine HVAC and process ventilation requirements.
• Develop HVAC and specialized process ventilation system designs based on project scope and client RFPs.
• Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for various building types.
• Perform load/energy calculations using software such as Trace 700, Carrier HAP, IES, and similar programs.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines and provide construction administration support.
