Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, IL is seeking a Drafter 1 to support mechanical design teams by preparing CAD drawings and 3D layout deliverables for Oil & Gas and Power projects. This role is hybrid with three days in the office and two days remote.

You will interpret markups, follow drafting standards, assist with field measurements, and help develop accurate, timely design packages. Strong collaboration and attention to safety and confidentiality are essential as you contribute to project plans,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting or CAD technology.
• Working knowledge of mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, supports, and related physical design deliverables.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD software, and 3D plant layout design tools.
• Strong communication, organization, accuracy, multitasking, and schedule-management skills, along with a commitment to safety and confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, revise, and maintain complex drawing diagrams, layouts, and detailed mechanical design drawings using CAD and 3D modeling tools.
• Interpret and incorporate engineering markups into project drawings and deliverables.
• Support multidisciplinary engineering and design teams in the development of mechanical physical layout drawings in a 3D model environment.
• Apply company and project drafting standards while working to project plans, schedules, deadlines, priorities, and budget constraints.
• Assist with field activities such as gathering measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, and supporting walkdowns and data collection at client facilities.
• Maintain effective communication with project team members and provide support needed to complete accurate, timely design deliverables.
