Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is hiring a Drafter 3 to support mechanical design teams on Oil & Gas and Power projects. The role combines CAD drafting with 3D layout work and requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

The position accepts a range of drafting experience levels, emphasizes safety and accuracy, and offers a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two remote days. Candidates should be prepared for field data gathering as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting or CAD technology, or a high school diploma with drafting coursework.
• At least 1 year of drafting experience in industrial mechanical design work.
• Working knowledge of mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, supports, and related deliverables.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD software, and 3D plant layout design tools.
• Strong communication, organization, accuracy, multitasking, and schedule-management skills, with safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain complex drawings and layouts using CAD and 3D modeling tools.
• Incorporate engineering markups into project drawings and deliverables.
• Support multidisciplinary teams in 3D mechanical physical layout drawings.
• Apply drafting standards while meeting project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Assist with field activities like measurements, tie-ins, as-builts, and data collection at client facilities.
• Maintain effective communication to deliver accurate, timely designs.
