Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, IL, seeks a Drafter 1 to support mechanical design teams on Oil & Gas and Power projects. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement: three days in the office and two days remotely.

You will prepare and modify CAD drawings and 3D layouts, incorporate engineering markups, and assist with physical design packages. The ideal candidate has an drafting degree or equivalent experience, strong communication, and proficiency with CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent drafting experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software and 3D layout design.
• Strong communication, organization, and schedule-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain complex drawing diagrams and detailed mechanical designs using CAD and 3D modeling tools.
• Incorporate engineering markups into project drawings and deliverables.
• Support multidisciplinary teams in developing mechanical physical layout drawings in a 3D environment.
• Follow company drafting standards and project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Assist with field activities such as measurements, tie-ins, as-builts, and data collection at client facilities.
• Maintain effective communication and provide support to deliver accurate, timely design work.
