The role involves taking designs from concept through fabrication, with close shop-floor interaction to optimize build methods. 100% onsite; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to take a design through fabrication.
• Accurate, detail-oriented drawing work and ability to communicate with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey and onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Preferred: experience with conveyors or similar fabricated equipment; water/wastewater background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Figure out how to build customer-required equipment, including new designs.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with appropriate detail.
• Support the project engineer running each order with needed design work.
• Ensure details are right before release to minimize rework.
