Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers Level 2/3 in Sunnyvale, CA to develop launcher hardware for Navy platforms. You will design concepts, create solid models, and coordinate with stakeholders to meet technical and schedule requirements. Occasional travel may be required and onsite work is mandatory.

The role requires a STEM degree, machine design experience, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance. Preference given to candidates with CAD tools and GD&T expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in STEM with relevant experience for Level 2; 5 years for Level 3.
• Experience in machine design and drawing generation.
• Ability to plan tasks and execute to schedule.
• US citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain US Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and solid models reflecting concepts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders balancing technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Conduct trade studies to evaluate design approaches.
• Oversee engineering drawings using GD&T practices.
• Identify procurement needs and support fabrication.
• Provide assembly checkout and test support.
• Generate task plans and support proposals.
• Occasional domestic travel may be required.
