Job summary

Amphenol Corporation is seeking a Product Development Engineer - Mechanical Design in Santa Clara, CA. The role focuses on concept, design, verification, and qualification of High Speed IO products for 112Gb signaling and beyond, ensuring manufacturability and meeting customer specs.

You will work with Marketing, suppliers, and global teams to optimize designs, lead design reviews, and define product and packaging specifications. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical discipline or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity and design for manufacturability is preferred.
• Experience using SolidWorks and FEA simulation tools (ANSYS) required.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop cable assemblies and IO connector systems from proposal to qualification.
• Perform DFM, FEA, tolerance analysis, and risk assessment.
• Define customer requirements and performance specs with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing to optimize production processes.
• Lead design reviews and ensure GD&T is correctly applied.
• Define test plans and manage first article inspections.
• Interact with global teams and mentors as needed.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
