Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Product Development Engineer (Mechanical Design) in the Chicago area. The role focuses on high-speed IO products, ensuring manufacturability, and meeting customer specs through cross-functional collaboration.

The engineer will lead design reviews, perform FMEA and tolerance analyses, and work with internal/external teams to transition from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of high speed cable assemblies and connector design is preferred.
• Experience with signal integrity concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop IO connector systems and cable assemblies.
• Perform Design FMEA, tolerance analysis, and risk analysis.
• Lead design reviews and ensure manufacturability for production processes.
• Collaborate with Marketing, suppliers, and global teams to define specs.
• Verify drawings with GD&T and support product qualification testing.
