Maintenance Technician A (III)

Transdev in Dallas, Texas is seeking an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections and annual maintenance inspections.
• Lead diagnostic tests for complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High level of problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
• 3 or more years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• ASE certifications required; program provided by Transdev.
• Mechanic’s tool set.
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical exam if applicable.

Physical Requirements

• Work outside in varying temperatures, weather and humidity; 100% performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods up to 6–8 hours per day; walk long distances, possibly on sloped or uneven surfaces.
• Push or pull objects up to 200 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; bend, kneel or crouch to reach equipment.
• Work in heavy traffic areas; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
