Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • ASE certifications required; program provided.
  • DOT drug testing and physical may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engine issues using advanced tools and software.
  • Perform moderate‑complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components.
  • Assist senior mechanics with advanced diagnostics and repairs.
  • Carry out routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
  • Lead diagnostic tests and determine repair strategies for diesel engines.
  • Overhaul and rebuild components to required specifications.
  • Provide mentorship to junior technicians.
  • Other duties as required.

Job description

Maintenance Technician B

Location: Houston, TX. Transdev is seeking an experienced B‑Level Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. The role ensures safety, efficiency, and longevity for our fleet.

Compensation
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $30.00/hr – maximum $35.00/hr
Benefits
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

  • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
  • Perform moderate‑complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Assist A‑Level Mechanics with advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
  • Mechanic’s tool set.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Employee generally spends long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of indoors and outdoors.
