Job summary

Transdev in DeKalb, IL seeks an experienced A-Level Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel engines across a range of vehicles. You will help ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of gas and diesel assets, while mentoring junior technicians.

The role requires 4–5 years of mechanic experience, ASE certifications, and DOT drug testing compliance. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Maintenance Technician A (III)

Transdev in DeKalb, IL is seeking an experienced A-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gasoline and diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our gas and diesel powered assets.

Compensation
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $29.00/hr - maximum $42.00/hr
Benefits
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on engines.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for gas and diesel engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on gas engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as required.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
