Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Meat & Seafood Manager to help lead one of the busiest departments in the store. You’ll assist in managing merchandising, inventory, and staff to deliver high-quality meats and seafood with exceptional customer service.

You will oversee team development, scheduling, and safety compliance while ensuring freshness and adherence to company standards. A recruiting, training, and hands-on leadership approach is essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with basic math skills and weights/measures.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience, with 2–3 years grocery retail Meat department experience preferred.
• Reliable, friendly, and able to interact with customers in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Responsible for housekeeping, safety, and sanitation in the department.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 90 lbs., and move pallets with a pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Assist Meat & Seafood Manager in department merchandising and productivity.
• Oversee inventory controls, product quality, and team supervision.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning and teamwork.
• Help hire, train, and develop Meat & Seafood staff.
• Follow receiving, stocking, and safety procedures to ensure freshness and quality.
• Maintain department cleanliness and sanitation per company standards.
• Ensure health, safety, and Weights and Measures compliance.
