Job summary

Hy-Vee is hiring an Assistant Meat Department Manager in LeMars, IA. You will support the Meat Department Manager in providing the freshest products at competitive prices while delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

The role involves training new employees, maintaining cold chain, rotating stock, and ensuring department standards. A high school diploma and food safety training are required or encouraged; prior Hy-Vee safety courses are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Computer meat program experience preferred.
• Hy-Vee food safety training completed.
• Cornell Home Study food safety course completed.
• Dale Carnegie training encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
• Escort customers to products and assist with locating items.
• Ensure department standards and freshness; rotate display cases.
• Train new employees and supervise staff in absence of the Department Manager.
• Maintain proper temperatures and storage for freshness and shrink control.
