Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Meat Department Manager in the Meat department. You will provide prompt, friendly customer service and assist in presenting fresh, high-quality products at competitive prices to customers.

You will lead in daily operations, train staff, manage cutting and stocking tasks, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are always met. This role reports to the District Store Director and supports multiple department leaders.

Qualifications

• Must be able to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and interpret instructions.
• Able to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Able to file, post, and mail materials; copy data; interview and guide people.

Responsabilités

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by showing care and patience to customers.
• Greets customers and learns their names to address them by name when possible.
• Assists customers by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, and passing along requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service to customers who call.
• Works with coworkers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Ensures department standards, freshness, and display rotations are maintained.
• Trains new employees and performs cutting tests; handles ordering and storage procedures.
• Understands sanitation procedures and maintains a clean work area and personal hygiene standards.
• Reports to work on schedule and handles responsibilities as assigned.
