Qualifications

• High school education and 3–4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the meat department.
• Achieve budgeted financial results.
• Prepare product for sale (cut, slice, trim, wrap, weigh, and price).
• Maintain in-store selling culture and execute merchandising programs.
• Order and pre-order preparation; manage inventory and out-of-stocks.
• Schedule the department and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Teach and train departmental staff and develop high-potential employees.
• Ensure department sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Maintain coolers and freezers to standard.
• Conduct weekly pricing audits and other department tasks.
• Own the entire meat department operations and coordinate with DSD Receiver and scan coordinator.
• Create an enthusiastic, guest-focused selling environment.
• Perform PA announcements and other tasks assigned by store manager.
