Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Meat Department Supervisor to lead operations of the meat section, including staffing, pricing, and customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. You will oversee prep, display, inventory, and adherence to standards to drive sales.

The role requires knowledge of meat operations, strong supervision and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining guest satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally and 25lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensures guests receive polite, friendly service from the meat department.
• Accountable for achieving budgeted financial results.
• Prepare product for sale (cut, slice, trim, wrap, weigh, and price).
• Execute merchandising programs and weekly sales themes.
• Responsible for department ordering and inventory management.
• Schedule the meat department workforce.
• Ensure department complies with company standards and audits.
• Train and develop department staff and plan talent development.
• Maintain sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Keep coolers and freezers at standard.
• Perform weekly pricing audits and weekly pull lists and monthly audits.
• Owns the entire meat department including seafood; coordinates with DSD Receiver.
• Create an enthusiastic, guest-focused selling environment.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies; maintain a safe department.
• Perform store announcements and other tasks assigned by store manager.
