Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Bench Department Manager for its Meat Department. After training, you may fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of home, with growth opportunities and a focus on delivering guest-focused service.

You will manage product prep, pricing, merchandising, scheduling, and compliance, while training staff and maintaining safe food handling practices across all shifts.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Ability to supervise staff, including training and development.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret information, and follow directions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Experience with scheduling and department budgeting is desirable.
• Familiarity with meat operations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service in the meat dept.
• Achieve budgeted financial results for the department.
• Prepare meat products for sale (cut, wrap, weigh, price) per standards.
• Lead merchandising programs and weekly sales themes to drive growth.
• Schedule department staff and maintain ALI audits and safety compliance.
• Train and mentor department staff and build a bench for promotable candidates.
• Maintain sanitation, inventory, and pricing accuracy on a weekly basis.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
