Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Meat Department Lead to drive sales, manage the meat program, and ensure guest satisfaction.

You will supervise staff, schedule, train, and maintain meat operations, sanitation, pricing, and in-stock conditions, while upholding company standards.

This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work with store teams to deliver excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school education and 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service in the meat department.
• Achieve budgeted financial results.
• Prepare meat products for sale per standards.
• Maintain merchandising, pricing, and inventory in stock.
• Schedule the department.
• Ensure department compliance with company standards.
• Provide performance feedback and conduct reviews.
• Train and develop departmental staff.
• Maintain sanitation and safe food handling.
• Maintain coolers and freezers to standard.
• Execute weekly pricing audits and weekly pull lists.
• Own the meat department and coordinate with DSD Receiver.
• Create an enthusiastic, guest-focused selling environment.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Maintain a safe department.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
