Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking an experienced Bench Department Manager to lead the meat department and drive profitability through people, product, and processes. After training, you may transition to a Department Manager role within 30 miles of home.

You will supervise meat operations, set pricing, manage inventories, coordinate scheduling, ensure safety and compliance, and foster a guest-focused selling culture with strong teamwork and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Knowledge of meat operations and safety practices.
• Ability to supervise, train, and develop staff.
• Strong communication, guest service, and selling skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the meat department.
• Achieve budgeted financial results for the department.
• Prepare products for sale (cut, slice, trim, wrap, weigh, price).
• Execute merchandising programs and manage inventory to ensure in-stock conditions.
• Schedule the department and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Train and develop departmental staff and build a strong bench of talent.
