Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Bench Department Manager for the Meat department. After training, you will progress toward a Department Manager role within 30 miles of home, with bench duties when no opening exists.

You will lead staff, maintain standards, and drive sales and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced grocery environment. You will schedule, train, and support a team while ensuring compliance with company policies and food safety.

Qualifications

• High school education and 3-4 years of progressive supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally and 25lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and push/pull stock carts for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensures guests receive polite, friendly service from the meat department.
• Accountable for achieving budgeted financial results.
• Prepare product for sale per Lowes Foods Standards.
• Implements selling culture and merchandising programs; plan and execute sales themes; ensure in-stock conditions.
• Responsible for department ordering and pre-ordering preparation.
• Measures and reacts to out of stocks.
• Responsible for scheduling the department.
• Ensures department compliance with company standards and ALI audits.
• Conducts performance reviews and develops staff.
• Develops and executes development plans for high-potential staff.
• Manages departmental sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Maintains coolers and freezers to standard.
• Executes weekly pricing audits, pull lists, and ALI self-audits.
• Takes ownership of entire meat department and coordinates with DSD Receiver and scan coordinator.
• Creates an enthusiastic, guest-focused selling environment.
• Ensures compliance with laws and company policies.
• Maintains a safe department for guests and hosts.
• Performs PA announcements.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by store manager.
