Job summary

Jetro Restaurant Depot is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager to oversee the meat department, ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, and adherence to company standards. You will help supervise staff and maintain efficient daily operations.

The role requires experience in meat/retail environments, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team setting. Schedule is primarily warehouse/retail with standing duties and flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in meat, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations
• Strong understanding of product handling and inventory practices
• Ability to identify product quality issues and maintain safety standards
• Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of the meat department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through proper stock control and product rotation
• Ensure all meat products are handled and stored in accordance with company and food safety standards
• Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
• Support and supervise department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures
• Assist with merchandising, signage, and product displays
• Support receiving processes by verifying incoming product for quality and accuracy
• Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies
