Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Maple Shade, NJ is seeking a Meat Department team member who will receive, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats while assisting members with selections and maintaining sanitation standards.

This role requires completing a training program or apprenticeship and prior meat cutting experience; 18+ years old. You’ll work in a fast-paced, cooler environment and handle lifts up to 30 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages and provides assistance to our Members by making recommendations along with answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members and ensures proper weighing, packaging, and labeling.
• Cleans, rotates, and maintains meat, poultry, seafood, and cheese cases per company standards.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels and ensures accurate signage and displays.
• Inspects received meats for quality and stores them properly in the cooler/freezer.
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports team with a safe, positive environment.
