Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated Meat Department team member to join our on-site team. The role involves cutting, grinding, wrapping, and merchandising fresh and processed meats, while assisting in the broader meat department and deli areas to meet member needs.

You will maintain sanitation, follow safety standards, and ensure accurate product labeling and rotation. This position requires an 18+ age minimum and a training/apprenticeship in meat cutting, with wrapping machine knowledge

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship is required.
• Previous meat cutting experience is required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Engages with Members by making recommendations and answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Cuts, grinds, processes fresh meats to company standards; weighs, packages, wraps, and labels products.
• Ensures the meat case showcases current products and maintains inventory levels.
• Rotates products according to expiration dates and disposes of damaged items per guidelines.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and display cases; maintains sanitation in the meat department.
• Receives deliveries and inspects meat for quality; performs other duties as assigned.
