Job summary

SpartanNash in Marine City, MI is seeking a dedicated Meat Cutter to accurately cut a variety of meats, weigh products, and prepare value-added items according to department standards. You will help maintain fresh displays, follow safety guidelines, and assist customers with product knowledge.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in retail or meat cutting; prior apprentice experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year retail or related experience preferred; prior meat cutter/apprentice experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausages.
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag meat products using department scales.
• Maintain clean, stocked shelves, displays, and cases.
• Notify management when products or supplies need ordering.
• Assist with stocking merchandise and familiarise with products.
