Job summary

SpartanNash in Caledonia, Michigan is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice to learn and perform a variety of meat cutting tasks in a retail setting. You will cut, weigh, trim, grind, and prepare meat products per established standards and recipes while maintaining quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• One year retail or related experience preferred; apprentice meat cutter experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Detail oriented and accurate in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, and other meats for portions.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines and recipes.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Grind and tray meats; prepare sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap, and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Stock shelves and merchandise displays; assist with ordering as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety and PPE guidelines.
