Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a meat department team member to receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats, including special meat arrangements for Members. You will assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses and deli, while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

The role includes adhering to GOLD Member Standards and club policies, delivering service excellence, and supporting daily operations in a fast-paced retail meat department.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages and assists Members by making recommendations and answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, and/or processes fresh meats to company cutting standards.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
