Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Meat Cutter at our Logansport, IN location to cut and prepare meats to department standards while maintaining a clean, well-stocked area. You will weigh, wrap and label products, follow recipes for processing, and assist with merchandising and guest service.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of retail or related experience preferred, and prior meat-cutting or apprenticeship experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• One year retail or other related experience preferred
• Prior Meat Cutter, Apprentice experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail Oriented

Responsibilities

• Cut, weigh, and prepare meats into various cuts as prescribed
• Produce value-added products per guidelines
• Cut, trim, bone carcass sections or prime cuts for cooking
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag meat products per guidelines
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays
• Notify the manager if products and supplies need to be ordered
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise
• Maintain knowledge of products, price, taste, preparation, use
• Practice suggestive selling with customers
• Maintain a clean, well stocked department
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed
