Job summary

SpartanNash in Fenton, MI is seeking a Meat Cutter to accurately cut and prepare meat products according to department standards, recipes, and quality controls. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior meat cutter or apprentice experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents; basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented and able to follow recipes and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh meats to prescribed standards and recipes.
• Prepare value-added products and trim carcass sections.
• Follow established procedures to grind, portion, wrap and label products.
• Rotate, stock and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify the manager when supplies need to be ordered and assist with inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized department and follow safety guidelines.
• Provide courteous service and suggestive selling to customers.
