Job summary

Ampact's Math Corps seeks a Math Tutor to work in local schools, delivering targeted math practice to small groups of students for 20–30 minutes. You’ll be trained and supported by an onsite coach, ensuring guided, effective sessions.

With the program, AmeriCorps members receive a stipend, health insurance, child care assistance, and loan benefits. The role runs Monday–Friday, about 35 hours weekly for the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and use feedback for improvements.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ with a HS diploma or equivalent and eligible for AmeriCorps service.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide support.
• Track student progress and meet with onsite coach regularly.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Grow through coaching and training opportunities.
• Share experiences with the community.
