Job summary
Ampact's Math Corps is seeking a dedicated Math Tutor to help students build math skills at local schools. You will lead small groups (up to 3 students) for 20–30 minute sessions, track progress, and return students to class with confidence.
Training and coaching support are provided to help you succeed in this AmeriCorps role. You’ll work daytime hours Monday through Friday during the 2026-27 school year, with some holidays off; compensation is hourly and includes benefits like health coverage
Qualifications
- Dependable with a history of good attendance.
- Able to follow instructions and use feedback to improve.
- Proficient with basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Able to pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
- Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
- Share your experience with the community.
