Job summary

Ampact operates Math Corps, a high-impact tutoring program that partners with schools to help students build essential math skills. As a Math Tutor, you’ll coach small groups, follow a schedule, and return students to their classrooms after sessions.

We provide training, ongoing coaching, and a supportive community. The role is part of AmeriCorps, with a regular stipend every two weeks and opportunities to grow your tutoring impact.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and online navigation)
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• Able to successfully complete a background check

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for student support
• Track student progress and meet with on-site coach
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software
• Commit to growth through coaching and training
• Share experiences with the community
