Job summary

Malama Health seeks a Community Doula to serve as a Maternity Care Navigator using our tools to support members across Texas. You will bridge providers, clinics, and community groups while delivering care coordination and outreach in local regions.

You will engage with Medicaid workflows, participate in events, and help grow Malama’s statewide birth equity network. The role offers flexible hours and growth opportunities in a fast-growing healthcare tech startup.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience as a Community Health Worker, Community Doula, Case/Care Manager, or Social Worker.
• Must be a certified birth doula prior to employment and enroll in TMHP Medicaid.
• Comfort with Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, and Zoom.
• Be a bridge; empathetic and a strong team player who communicates well.
• Fluent in English and bilingual in Spanish; located in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Care Management to meet patient needs via outreach, assessments, and guidance by phone, SMS, video, or in person.
• Coordinate care services and referrals with health plans, providers, and care teams to drive services to completion.
• Communicate to empower patient learning using motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches.
• Use care management portals to document, track, and improve services; manage caseload targets.
• Engage in community outreach at clinics and events; build relationships with CBOs and partners.
