Job summary

Malama Health is seeking a Community Doula in Louisiana to serve as a Maternity Care Navigator, bridging providers, community organizations, and patients. You will deliver care management, coordinate referrals, and engage families through outreach and education using our digital tools.

The role emphasizes equity, strong community ties, and travel across assigned counties, with flexible hours and opportunities to grow in a fast-growing healthcare tech startup.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in Community Health Worker, Doula, Case Manager, or related roles.
• Must be a certified birth doula prior to employment (CPR training, births completed).
• Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Reliable, responsive to calls/texts and tech-friendly.
• Strong community ties in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care management and help patients access services via calls, texts, video or in person.
• Coordinate care with health plans and service providers to complete referrals.
• Use motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care to empower patient learning.
• Document and track services using care management portals and meet caseload targets.
• Conduct in-person and virtual outreach at clinics and community events to raise awareness.
