Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking an experienced M&P Engineer to advance the Lunar Transportation platform, focusing on metals, corrosion prevention, and qualification for aerospace components. You will lead internal and supplier efforts, review drawings, and drive test plans to verify material performance in spaceflight programs.

You should have a B.S. in a related engineering field, 5+ years in production M&P on flight programs, and deep knowledge of NASA corrosion requirements and material

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Aerospace, Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years M&P engineering on production flight program.
  • Knowledge of NASA corrosion prevention requirements and standards.
  • Experience with dissimilar metal compatibilities and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with NASA-STD-6012 and corrosion prevention for space vehicles.
  • Experience reviewing material data and qualification for aerospace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad support for aerospace materials and processes.
  • Own corrosion prevention plan, requirements, implementation, and verification.
  • Lead corrosion characterization efforts.
  • Review production drawings for large assemblies.
  • Authorize M&P signatory release of drawings.
  • Lead internal and external M&P efforts with specs, supplier qualification, First Article Inspection, testing.
  • Develop internal engineering and quality processes for material evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Lunar initiatives and other units.
