Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced M&P Engineer to join the Lunar Transportation team. You will apply technical expertise to ensure corrosion prevention, material selection, and process qualification for aerospace components used in lunar landers and related systems.

The role involves leading cross-functional coordination, developing testing plans, and working with vendors and internal teams to accelerate material qualification while maintaining safety and quality.”

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of demonstrated M&P Engineering experience on a production flight program.
• In-depth knowledge of NASA corrosion prevention requirements, associated standards and practices.
• Knowledge of dissimilar metal compatibilities and mitigation techniques.
• Experience in materials and manufacturing process review and selection for aerospace applications.
• Ability to travel to support development and testing at Blue Origin and vendor sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad support for aerospace grade materials and processes (aluminum, steel, inconel, copper, bronze, composites).
• Own corrosion prevention and control plan, requirements, implementation and verification; provide design support.
• Lead and coordinate corrosion characterization efforts.
• Review production drawings for large complex assemblies and document reviews.
• Responsible for M&P signatory release of engineering drawings for parts and assemblies.
• Lead and coordinate internal and external M&P efforts, including specs, supplier qualification, FAI, testing, updates.
• Develop internal engineering and quality processes to standardize material evaluation and qualification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Lunar organization and other units.
