Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced M&P Engineer for the Lunar Transportation team to advance corrosion prevention for space vehicle materials and processes. You will lead qualification activities, coordinate reviews, and ensure alignment with NASA standards while collaborating across teams.

Requires a B.S. in a related field and 5+ years in production flight programs; travel to vendor sites will be needed. Work is onsite in Washington state with a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Eng or related field.
  • 5+ years of M&P engineering on a production flight program.
  • Knowledge of NASA corrosion prevention requirements and standards.
  • Experience with dissimilar metal compatibility and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with NASA-STD-6012 and corrosion prevention for space vehicles.
  • Experience reviewing materials, processes, and data for aerospace applications.
  • Ability to travel to Blue Origin sites for development and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad support for aerospace materials and processes including aluminum, steel, inconel, copper, bronze, composites.
  • Own corrosion prevention plan, requirements, implementation, and verification; support vehicle systems.
  • Lead corrosion characterization efforts and documentation.
  • Review production drawings for large assemblies and document reviews.
  • Lead M&P signatory release of drawings for parts and assemblies.
  • Coordinate internal and external M&P efforts, including supplier qualification and tests.
  • Develop internal engineering and quality processes to standardize material evaluation and qualification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Lunar organization and other units.
