Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced M&P Engineer to join the Lunar Transportation team, advancing corrosion prevention and material qualification for the Lunar program. You will coordinate cross-functional efforts, review large assemblies, and release critical engineering drawings, supporting safe, reliable spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of M&P engineering experience on a production flight program.
  • In-depth knowledge of NASA corrosion prevention requirements, standards, and methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of dissimilar metal compatibilities and mitigation techniques.
  • Familiarity with NASA-STD-6012 and corrosion prevention for space vehicles.
  • Experience in materials and manufacturing process review and qualification for aerospace applications.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans for qualification of components, materials, and processes.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for material data analysis (e.g. MMPDS, MAPTIS, CMH-17).

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad support for aerospace materials and processes (aluminum, steel, inconel, copper, bronze, composites).
  • Own corrosion prevention plan, requirements, implementation, and verification for all vehicle systems.
  • Lead and coordinate corrosion characterization efforts.
  • Review production drawings for large assemblies and document reviews.
  • Release engineering drawings for parts and assemblies.
  • Coordinate internal and external M&P efforts (specifications, supplier qualification, first article inspection, testing).
  • Develop internal materials and process engineering and quality processes to accelerate evaluation and qualification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Lunar organization and other units.
