Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Material Handler in Spring Lake, MI. You will move freight, stock, and materials to production areas, use forklift, transfer raw materials, and maintain inventory control.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, prior manufacturing experience preferred, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This temp-to-hire position offers pay of $22.00–$23.00 per hour and a 3rd shift 11pm–7:05am.

• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and meet standards without direct supervision.
• Basic computer skills including data entry and navigation of internal programs.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Move freight, stock, and materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, vehicles, and containers by hand or forklift.
• Transfer raw materials, colorants, and packaging to storage areas and production lines as needed.
• Identify and supply raw materials to production and maintain inventory control processes.
• Weigh and document materials on return; support housekeeping and 5S; participate in monthly inventory.

What’s a typical day as a Material Handler? You’ll be:

• Moving freight, stock, and materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers by hand or forklift.
• Transferring raw materials, colorants, and packaging to specified storage areas and production lines as needed.
• Accurately identifying and supplying raw materials to production, building skids, and maintaining inventory control processes.
• Weighing and documenting materials upon return, supporting housekeeping and 5S programs, and participating in monthly inventory assessments.
• Communicating regularly with supervisors and support staff, participating in Kaizen events, and seeking value-added activities when time allows.
• Performing other duties as assigned to support continual improvement.
