Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience with carbon arc gouging and FCAW electrodes (1/16" and 3/32").
• Pass a 1" weld certification test (positions 1G–4G) within 90 days.
• Read weld blueprints and perform precise welds to quality standards.
• Strong welding safety knowledge and consistent application in shop.
• Solid math skills for measurement and technical specs.
• Problem solving and mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance.
• Team oriented with ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Commitment to continuous learning in welding technologies and safety.
• Flexible with varying shifts to meet production demands.

Responsibilities

• Expert in carbon arc gouging and Oxy/Fuel torch for precision cutting and prep.
• Read and interpret weld symbols, prints, and blueprints.
• Operate rigging equipment and overhead cranes safely with required certs.
• Fit and layout components before welding.
• Use a wide range of welding electrodes and adapt to materials.
• Perform carbon arc gouging accurately for repairs and fabrication.
• Achieve weld certifications per Komatsu Quality standards.
• Apply math for measurement and tasks.
• Interpret drawings, specs, charts, tables, and formulas for accuracy.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions.
• Maintain reports and records for data collection.
• Read machinist measuring instruments for quality control.
• Participate in ongoing training on welding technologies and safety.
